Davis ELEMENTARY

Welcome to Davis Elementary School, a tuition-free public charter school serving kindergarten through fifth grade scholars in Montgomery, Alabama. As part of the Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) network, Davis is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and community-centered environment where every scholar is valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

At Davis, our educators use data-driven instruction, small-group learning, and a rigorous, personalized curriculum to ensure every child receives the support needed to master key academic skills. Through individualized attention and differentiated learning, scholars grow in confidence, curiosity, and leadership.

Beyond academics, Davis Elementary School offers a variety of enrichment opportunities that help scholars explore their interests and connect learning to the world around them. From clubs like Coding, 4-H, Journalism, Photography, and Hispanic Heritage to track and other extracurricular activities, scholars have opportunities to learn, lead, and shine. Strong community partnerships and family engagement further strengthen our supportive school environment.

At Davis, we believe every child has greatness within. We are preparing scholars to become confident learners, compassionate leaders, and engaged citizens—ready to thrive in school and in their community.

Davis Elementary School is a Montgomery Education Foundation (MEF) charter school, created through a partnership between MEF and Phalen Leadership Academies. As an MEF charter, Davis operates as a public school committed to serving neighborhood families while maintaining high academic expectations, strong community connections, and innovative approaches to learning that meet the needs of scholars and the Montgomery community.

At Davis Elementary School, data-driven instruction and small-group learning ensure every scholar receives personalized support that builds academic growth, confidence, and curiosity. Through engaging, hands-on lessons, scholars learn to think critically, work collaboratively, and lead with purpose.

Davis offers a variety of enriching opportunities—including STEM-focused learning, arts, clubs, athletics, and after-school activities—designed to support the whole child. Scholars benefit from transportation services, daily meal service, extended learning opportunities, and a free summer learning program. Families may also access free job training and career development opportunities through Skilled US, supporting success for the entire household.

McKinney-Vento Act

The McKinney-Vento Act protects scholars from discrimination based on their lack of a permanent residence. Homeless Scholars are eligible to receive a variety of services including: transportation services, free meals under the school nutrition programs, limited English proficiency class, gifted and talented programs, and special education services based on a scholar’s eligibility. Homeless Scholars will not be denied enrollment based on lack of proof of residency. Please consult the McKinney-Vento Act Liaison if you need assistance.
